Search Engine Optimisation (SEO)

Websites listed near the top of the search results on Google, Yahoo and Bing have a great
chance of success.

There are proven search engine optimisation techniques that drive websites to the top of the
search results and top listings deliver highly targeted searchers to your website for the products
and services that you offer.

Does my site need it?

Well, of course, you have the option of not making your site accessible to search engines and directories...but what's the point of that? If you want your site to be found, then you must optimize it for search; and basically, that means you must make it visible to search engines. Web sites in today's competitive business market that are not optimized for search don't have much of a chance of being found by potential customers; and that goes for non-business sites as well.

There's really no excuse for not doing search engine optimization. If you go through the trouble of making a web site, then your intention probably is for that web site to be found. SEO just is the process that helps this happen..

How is this achieved?

There are several aspects to good SEO. There are on-site and off-site factors that must be taken into consideration. On-site factors are things such as the title of the site (URL), page titles, internal links (links within the site itself), use of H1, H2, H3 tags, the bolding of important words, Alt tags on image, etc..

It's a great idea to incorporate all of your on-site factors when the website is being built. That way you'll have a good base to build on.

A good website designer will include all the things that the search engines are looking for, as the site is designed and developed, but it is also possible to take an existing site and add any SEO factors that are missing.

What can I do to help?

There are a few things.

First of all we will need to title all of your pages correctly with short, but relevent titles.

Content should be supplied, both text and images that will be required on all pages, so that we can manufacture, keyword lists and appropriate descriptions of pages.

Finally we will need a list of keywords of which you would like your website and webpages to be found in search engines. Once we know all of this we can build your pages with a complete structure that makes sense to not only your users, but easy for the search engines to find your content also.
